Lisa Klakulak’s 4 day Sculting Hollow Form Workshop: Applications of Partial Felt for Extreme Differential Shrinkage
Learn to raise and sculpt hollow felt forms using differences in shrinkage and directional agitation. Integrate areas of low shrinkage partial felt in high shrinkage fiber layouts to create concave and convex surfaces while strategically altering overall form. Explore template shape, density and curvature of the wall, stitched structural ribbing, steam blocking and the possibilities of shellac stiffening.
