Layers Exhibition
Twenty-two Art Cloth Network artists from the US and Canada created twenty-seven works of textile art addressing the show’s theme, Layers.
The word “layers” evokes many ideas. Layers of memory, layers in the landscape, layers of meaning in conversation, layers of surfaces, layers of cracked paint, layers of clothing, layers of cultural knowledge, layers of light and shadow and color are just a few. Every day we all deal with layers in different ways, and the artwork in this exhibit is intentionally broad and multidimensional.
