The two-day encaustic workshop is designed to introduce students to this exciting medium, an ancient technique invented by the Greeks, who used wax for practical and decorative reasons on their boats. It will provide participants with an overview of techniques, including how to prepare your substrate, application of wax, and proper fusing methods. We will also discuss how to set up a home studio and ways to incorporate mixed media into future work. You will leave with finished paintings!
