Transitions or turns in life surround a Madonna panel machine embroidered and quilted. cotton fabric pieces and ribbons couched with machine embroidery as layers were added.

Ikat Spin, 2023
Ink, cotton, embroidery thread, acrylic rings, Yukata cotton, Ikat wool, batting 30 by 30 inches
Initiated as a mark making experiment with three panels deconstructed and reconstructed with Yukata cotton and cotton squares over laid followed by hand and machine embroidery. Lastly orange Ikat wool added as raw edge applique to lead the eye through the piece to pause for a moment and look.

This is a companion piece to the Buried Poem Quilt which relates the story told about the tragedy of Indian Schools. This piece uses fabric origami and mini moccasins, each unique, to represent the children and families impacted.
