CONNECTIVITY, 2022
cotton textiles, thread, interfacing, black bamboo, metal chaining 22” x 19” x 8.5”
Though all the leaves on these accordion ‘pages’ belong to different plant species, they are all part of an invisible system. Trees are not solitary individuals but live connected to each other through an underground mycorrhizal network. Like humans and animals, they are varied, complex, and beautiful. They stabilize our environment and the air we breathe, connecting earth and sky.

ENERGY & STILLNESS, 2016
cotton, painted silk organza, thread 16" W x 33.5" H
ENERGY & STILLNESS is inspired by the geometric simplicity of line and space in some of Victor Vasarely’s abstract art. To the minimalism of black and white, I add a touch of red, inviting a sense of meditative calm without being static, for energy and stillness are not incongruous states, but can exist simultaneously.
