Vertigo, 2019
Linen, embroidery thread 18"x20"x1"
This is a state of mind piece of work, relating to the state of the world, my family, the earth. Things are whirling around maniacally with a red hot center and I have vertigo as a result.

Empty Nests?, 2019
Machine embroidery, thread, hand embroidery, embroidery thread 18"x8"x5"
Like so many people today, the loss of our environment haunts me. Hearing birds greet each other as the day begins is a delight. Watching them carefully build their nests, to perfect specifications, is a wonder. So, to honor our avian friends, I am using my ability to make things to build a tribute to their homes and their existence.

Family Tree, 2021
Machine embroidery, thread, hand embroidery, embroidery thread, muslin 15"x24"x1"
During the pandemic lockdown, I discovered and read books and articles describing the amazing traits of trees--that trees have their own DNA, that the forest is really a family with mother trees and offspring. I learned about the symbiosis of all parts of a forest and found it to be a spiritual truth. In “Family Tree”, through free-motion embroidery on my trusty Bernina, I’ve stitched tree rings, which can reveal everything about a tree’s life. To the right of the rings, I’ve hand-embroidered legends from my own family tree.
