Por el mundo – Out in the world again, 2021
Polymer clay, steel wire, embroidery floss 3" x 24"
During a year in quarantine, dreaming of being out in the world again. A found doll traveled with me in our former reality. Photographing her was an exercise in seeing the world to which I now wish to return. I embrace the challenge of combining traditional techniques like embroidery and bookbinding with contemporary ones like digital photography, digital manipulation and printing on non-traditional materials (polymer clay).

The piece is created with printed layers of translucent silk organza and cotton fabrics, those layers relate to the layers of graffiti covering the city walls.
