Whimsical Blues, 2023
Cotton, indigo dye, shibori, late 1800's fabric, lace, tatting, raw silk 54 1/2" x 64"
Whimsical Blues is a quilt made up of pieces from an 1800's blouse's lace and fabric, my grandmother's tatting, crochet pieces, and scraps of my indigo shibori with embroidery and sashiko stitiching. This piece is not only a memory piece of years gone by but an example of how these fabrics can be brought to new life.

A Little Unfinished Business, 2022
Cotton, Sashiko Thread, thread 24" x 41"
The use of scraps of fabrics from other projects is about reusing and up-cycling fabrics that might have been thrown away. The title "A Little Unfinished Business" is a statement about humanity and the fact that we all have unfinished business in our lives that we should attend to. This piece is intentionally not finished.
