A pop-up exhibition of my handmade pieces 2015 - 2023 in the local library I spent a fair amount of my childhood. All the pieces are inspired by words I've read & absorbed - then transformed into needle, thread & fabric.

Rapunzel – post hair cut, 2020
100% cotton hand-dyed using local gum leaves with iron mordant, cotton thread 20cm x 15cm framed
As a child I was frustrated that Rapunzel was usually shown with blonde hair in illustrations. The earliest know story that depicts a character like Rapunzel is Roman. Not a blonde hair in sight.
