Indra’s Net

Artist: Sarah Haskell

Title: Indra’s Net

Attribution: Indra's Net

Year: 2024-5

Materials: Maine beach stones, natural dyed linen

Image Statement: Stones suspend from sturdy corsage pins about 1.5” out from the wall, creating a web of shadows and slight movement threads as the air moves. Indra's net is the central metaphor that artfully illustrates the Avatamsaka cosmology. It describes a net of jewels, where the polished surface of each jewel reflects all other jewels.
