Participants will complete two weavings throughout this introductory workshop to build trust in our senses of touch, hearing, and sight through drawing and weaving. We will familiarize ourselves with the loom by noticing the patterns of repetitive movements and rhythms as we make strips of plain woven cloth in the first project. We will expand to contour line drawings in twill for the second project. Weavers with prior experience can use more advanced techniques, including but not limited to inlay, clasped weft, and weaving on opposites.
