Sew Some Joy into your Wardrobe

Bring your clothes in need of a refresh, your stash fabric and clothes for cutting and trading and we will sew some whimsy into our wardrobes! In these times of corporate beige and uncertainty we can bring some joy into the world with what we wear, and the most eco and ethical garment you can wear is the one you already own. Sometimes we need someone with more experience to give us permission and direction to explore our own creativity and self expression and that is ultimately the goal of this class. You will use the sewing machine and hand sewing to mend and alter clothing and cloth that you bring to turn your items into works of fashion and function. We will learn different seam finishes, duplicate and remake cuffs and collars from existing garments, add pockets, fix and make button holes, consider composition, and iron a lot. This workshop is meant for enthusiastic beginners and onward. The only special skills required are a willingness to experiment, self grace, and a good attitude.
