Image Statement: Playing upon the idea of a gendered body, (en) gendered vessel reimagines the vessel as an imaginary organ, womb-like with associations to the female body. Vessels are said to symbolize feminine containment. Choosing to paint the vessel pink heightens associations to being feminine. I think of pink as a nurturing and healing color.
