Image Statement: I explored the compelling contrasts between form, essence and abstraction. I created a rust dyed silk print; I then applied batting under the print to retain its softness. The celestial Planets are stones and quills along w/wire armature, they appear to float. The ornate gilded frame brings an old world quality but the abstraction of the print and the protruding planets shows a more modern mix.
